About Us

Philosophy

At Summit School Program, we believe in the power of relationships and teaching skills that help people become independent and successful. As an alternative school program, it is critical that our program provides an atmosphere conducive to all students' learning styles and needs, and has the flexibility to address challenging behaviors. A student wouldn't be referred to Summit unless they are experiencing some difficulty at home, school, or in the community. Therefore, when youth attend Summit, they are met with staff who are prepared to address challenging behaviors in a therapeutic, supportive environment. Although we want students to exhibit maturity, and self-discipline, we understand they may lack the necessary social, emotional and behavioral skills that allow them to do this. Summit policies are designed to guarantee a positive learning experience for every student and support his or her path toward attaining life and career goals.

MISSION: To provide a structured, safe and therapeutic learning environment with growth and change opportunities for everyone involved.
VISION:  Summit School staff and learners will build community through collaboration in a safe, respectful, and fun learning environment.

School wide expectations for all members of Summit School Program include honoring RROC by BEING:

  • RESPONSIBLE-Takes accountability for self
  • RESPECTFUL-Treats self and others with integrity and kindness
  • OPTIMISTIC – Is positive and uses coping skills
  • CAPABLE- Is present, participates and does your best
